SCHLEPP ZETA D.I. - Digital Imaging Platform

SCHLEPP ZETA D.I. is a compact, ultra-sturdy Tethering / Digi Plate for Imaging Professionals.

ZETA D.I. is compatible with all Apple Silicon MacBook Pro 14“ and 16“ models, starting 2021. (Optional Brackets for recent 15“ MacBook Air models available, too). 

At 800 grams (1.76 lbs), including its ARCA Mount, and the mounting brackets (for 14“ or 16 MacBook Pro Models“), it’s only half the weight - or less - of existing Digi Plates from most other manufacturers (≈1.5-2+ KG).

Some very expensive and exotic models from specialized manufacturers are around 800-1.000 grams net in weight, but without any monuting options.

800 grams is the ready-to-use weight of ZETA D.I. 

Due to its compact size, SCHLEPP ZETA D.I. fits many regular laptop bags, backpacks - or on top of your gear inside your case (total width: 43 cm / 16.92") - with your MacBook Pro attached!

CONCEPT

By leaping over expensive CNC-machining, or thicker materials, we cut the price to a FRACTION of existing digi plates - without compromising on stability or reliability. 

The main frame is bent into a "Z" from a single 4mm aluminium alloy sheet, improving the stiffness and load-bearing capacity. (Please see video in slides: a 50KG / 110 lbs person jumping on ZETA D.I.)

ZETA is CDC- and powder coated in low-reflective matte black. 

When mounted under a 16“ Macbook Pro, ZETA D.I. is barely visible - the passive thermal cooling happens in the shade of your MacBook. 

Your laptop sits on 2mm heat resistant silicon pads that protect the bottom of your device, and reduce vibrations.

The included clamping brackets (with anti scratch-pads) are made from 304 stainless steel, 1mm thick, granting a tight, reliable attachment of your 14“ or 16“ MacBook.

The front lip of ZETA D.I. lets your Macbook sit safely, even when angled down on a tripod, stand or ballhead.

ARCA MOUNT

The integrated ARCA mount is secured by two central, flush-clinched aerospace-certified nuts (NASM 45938). 

Each nut is pressed into the Aluminium with 11 kN of precision force.

This heavy-duty connection is engineered to withstand a minimum pull-out force of 2x 200 kg, providing ultimate safety for your laptop setup.

Please check the video in the slides showing a 50 kg / 110 lbs person holding onto and putting their full weight on ZETA D.I.'s central threads. Do NOT try this at home - and NEVER try this with digi plates from other manufacturers - as their threads will probably fail or tear out. 

STANDALONE

Due to its geometry, ZETA D.I. can be used as a standalone desktop stand with passive cooling by design. 

The integrated air vent holes grant improved thermal dissipation, leaving 20-30 mm under the processor unit of your MacBook Pro. 

ATTACHING ADD-ONS

The rear side (angled down) has inverted L-shaped slots (ø6.5mm) to attach third party Cheese Plates with 1/4“-20 or M6 bolts and nuts (e.g. Camvate Mini Cheese Plate, Smallrig 1598). 

Optionally, you can use these slots to neatly route your tethering or power cable (up to 6 mm in diameter) to release any stress from your MacBook ports – yes, we did integrate a free „Jerkstopper“ too.

The L-shape self-centers thinner cords by its geometry, while the rounded, powder-coated edges guarantee zero scratching or cable wear.

Three additional 12.5mm holes allow you to hang mesh bags or other accessories with hooks while ZETA D.I. is mounted on a tripod.

We recommend a maximum load of 2kg (ca. 4.41 lbs) for additional accessories attached to the rear side of ZETA D.I.. This weight limit is ONLY defined by the holding capacity of the tripod head in use.

As mentioned before - and shown in the videos in the slideshow - even 20, 30 KG or more (44, 66 lbs or more) load could be used on ZETA D.I. in theory - but we recommend a max. total load of 5-10 KG (11-22 lbs) - as higher loads will tilt or break your ballhead or tripod.

COMPATIBILITY WITH SCHLEPP CAMERA CARTS

ZETA D.I. can be attached to the top shelf of your SCHLEPP ONE, ONE-S, or ADVANCE Camera Cart with a simple ARCA-compatible ballhead.

Depending on the height of your ballhead, ZETA D.I. can be used on all (horizontal) mounting spots on the top shelf of your SCHLEPP Camera Cart. 

Of course, ZETA D.I. can be used with any ARCA-compatible tripod. 

It comes with a protective, soft mesh bag for transport.

SUNLIGHT PROTECTION

For reducing display glare or sunlight protection, we recommend the lightweight Togtech 14“ or 16“ Laptop Shades, available in our store.

Those foldable Laptop Shades simply slip onto the display of your MacBook and they fit all regular laptop bags, when folded down.

FUTURE ADD ONS

(1) 16mm Pin Adapter  - for attaching SCHLEPP ZETA D.I. to C-Stands or 5/8" TV Pins, available 09/2026.

A free 3D-printable file will be available early July, 2026. It requires an M6 x 16mm Star Knob (screw) and an M6 nut. 

(2) Tubular Handle: optionally available late 07/2026, 200mm wide, 45° angled. The handle can be attached to the lower rear of ZETA D.I.

With this handle, you can carry your D.I. setup vertically or you can use the handle to elevate ZETA D.I. when using it standalone on your SCHLEPP Camera Cart - or any desktop or surface. 

WARNING: For safety reasons, always close and securely clamp the laptop before transporting or carrying the system vertically.

(3) Pi SSD - SSD Holder / Bracket for all regular SSD sizes. The optional Pi SSD mount (available 09 / 2026) is an aluminium alloy plate with heat-resistant shock-cords- It can be attached to the inverted L-shaped mounts on ZETA D.I. in a second. 

A free 3D-printable is available here. It only requires 2x ca. 25cm (2x ca. 10") pieces of shock cord or tactical cord.
